Kendra the Bartenda from Phil's Bar in Landover managed a 20" keeper today Fishing with Captain Charlie. We had 19 throwback fish from 12" - 18" today in three hours, the crew got to the boat late. We also had on board Don the Door Man, Susie the Teacher, Michelle the Park Ranger, Mary the Office Assitant and Helen the melon all from the Beltsville area and drinking buddies at the Bar. Don got the trip together and brought them to the shore to enjoy a day of fishing. What a crew!!!!
Hovey with a beast of a red drum caught on a modified fishfinder rig and cut bait a couple days ago. The limit on red drum are 18-26 inches all over 26 must be released like the one above. Congrats on a great catch!
Mike, Kenny, John and Scott fishing on the MainEscape. Multiple Marlin hookups on 9/24/09.
The winds have been really persistant around here. In the bay there are still plenty of flounder a few seabass and an occasional spot too. Most are still too small but anglers are having fun catching em. Off the beach the snapper blues are around. This morning Bob from Md. had a dozen snappers on cut mullet. We have in fresh cob mullet. The crabbing is going strong here in the backbay. If you are looking to have some fun take some handlines out to the refuge and go crabbing.
