Today turned out to be another beautiful beach day although not as productive as the past few days. Mr Tony and Rick entered the ORV Zone early this morning and began fishing at high water. Weather wise it was a beautiful cool, sunny morning. The fishing for us proved to be very slow however. After a couple hours all we had to show was a 12" blue and a bent hook, the result of an aggressive skate.Other anglers this morning pulled in a lot of skates which kept them active, a few kingfish let anglers take home lunch. Later on in the day the blues started to hit with some consistency mixed in with a few sharks. Pictured below is a ray caught by Roger T. he had a good time fighting this one...
Chincoteague Island Chili Chowder Cookoff exceeded over 2000 people. Friends came in and said the food was excellent, as the point the chili-chowder cookoff has grown to be almost as big as the Oyster Festival.
