Chincoteague Fishing Report through the first week of October

Still some good bluefish action happening off the surf with an occasional big drum being caught too.  Kingfish and spot using the smaller surfballs with shrimp, squid, bloodworms, and or fishbites.  A few grey trout have been also caught in the back bay.  Pictured below is a big flounder caught by Tony Bergman fishing aboard teh “Chincoteague Yankee” with Capt. George in the AssateagueChannel earlier this week on finger mullet.  Still plenty of small seabass off the bridges with some pufferfish mixed in.  Big rays and sharks also in the surf with the biggest around 6 foot southern ray.
