Beach progress report we have been over the the CNWR and they have been working hard to get the beach parking back open. It looks like this upcoming weekend the ORZ zove will be open again and there will be beach parking at the Tom's Cove Visitors Center. We are thankful things are progressing. Off the surf there are still red drum around. Yesterday there were some keepers caught as anglers walked and did well using cut bait. We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We have been keeping busy around here getting ready for the Fall fishing season. We have in live eels. The Atlantic Fire Company Tournament is slated for this weekend.
The Atlantic Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company are proud to host the 6th Annual Rockfish Derby on December 3-4, 2011. This derby is a fundraiser for the Fire Company. Registration is $25 per angler and $15 per youth angler (12 and under). Registration deadline is December 2nd at the angler’s dinner meeting. Registrations received by November 19th will be entered into a special drawing.
The Angler’s dinner meeting will be held on December 2nd at 6:30pm at the Atlantic Fire House located at 10071 Atlantic Road, Atlantic, VA. The dinner is included with all registrations. Extra dinner guests are welcome for a cost of $7 per guest. Door prizes, 50/50, raffles, and Calcutta will be offered.
