We have had anotehr good weekend here at the shop. There was a good crowd for the chili/chowder cookoff which was a success. The winds did slow down the fishing a bit this weekend, only a few of the bluefish were caught along with some kingfish and dogfish too. Sputnik sinkers worked best this weekend with the extra current produced by the full moon and the winds. We have been getting in fresh bait. While some people are thinking the season is winding down. This is the time where the Fall season starts for the Striped Bass. We have a huge selection of rods and reels along with artificial lures and trolling baits for the Striper migration. Swing on in and let our family outfit you for your best chance at hooking up. In the bay there are still flounder around and we have seen some blowfish(pufferfish) also caught.
Our annual Surf Fishing Striped Bass Tournament is slated for November 18-20th. We are working for the tournament shirt design at the moment. Mark your calandars, this is a free tournament with nice prizes given away. It is always a great time this time of year with plenty of good memories being made.
