On a fishing charter with Capt. Mike with the "Chicnoteague View" Kolin Travis from Wilkes Barre, PA with a 20", 3-1/4#er he caught Sat. This was 9 year old Kolin's 1st time fishing here and he caught lots of croaker up to 15" and a few flounder, too. The croaker are just about everywhere and some bigger ones are starting to show up, too. There are still some flounder being caught even while we're croaker fishing so they're still around.
Atlantic Cutlassfish better known as a ribbonfish there have been more caught this year than in previous years, these fish have a shiny coating and some wicked looking teeth.
With the high seas we have been having not to much offshore fishing has been going on here lately. In the surf anglers have had to go to heavier weights do to the undertow and waves. We have sputnik sinker which have spikes that give you extra holding power. We also carry the largest selection of sinkers. Gene brite had a great Saturday night catching some bigger spot, a bluefish and sharks too. In the surf there have been plenty of spot around using surfballs tipped with bloodworms and fishbites bw have been working good a few bluefish have moved in too. Still croaker and flounder in the bay. Thats the report for now. Tight Lines!
