Captain Chuck, Charlie, and Jake went out this afternoon on the Fin Crazy and limited out on Tog in three hours at the inshore wrecks . Capt Chuck also caught a nice Triggerfish. It was a beautiful day out there!!!! We also had several tog under the size limit a few Sea Bass and watched a lot of small blues chase our rigs to the top!
Capt. Mike Barnes aboard the Screamin Seaman have never been down this late to see frost on the ground nor when the mosquitoes were gone. Here's a summery of conditions from fishing the inshore wrecks yesterday. Along with Mike were Mark Swift and Tim Willard. The seas were long 10 sec. rollers with about a 3' chop in the am. Water quality was clear even with the nasty Nor Easters the few days before. It took them a while to find the right structure that were holding Tog. Finally around 11:00 am they found what we were looking for.We had our limit of tog in 2 and a half hours. We then moved around the structure catching a few more and releasing them to be caught another day. We also had 4 triggers in the mix which was surprising to me being the water temp was 58 degrees. We will see more of the Screamin Seaman as those big striped bass come down the coast.
In the back bay after the blow there are some keeper flounder being crought in. The rockfish aka( Striped Bass) are being caught with the biggest one so far being 41 inches caught on a swimshad. We have a large variety of artificials which work well for the stripers. Parking Lots 1 and 2 are open and 3 is being worked on right now. Off the beach there are sharks and skates and a few bluefish are being caught. We have in fresh bunker
