Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. We had a family lunch on the porch hanging out at Capt. Steves.
Vern Baseman from Trails End and his Baltimore Buddies, Bill Milani, Ron Hughes and Brian & Cody Wolfe. We had a good day with 4 keepers, the biggest one 23-1/2", 4-1/2 #'s and another 22", 3-1/4 #'s. All on the ebb tide! They fish every year on fathers day weekend fishing aboard the Chincoteague View with Charter Capt. Mike.
Pres says if you can't get em in the mouth just snag 'em. Preston from Westminister, MD snagged this 17.5" flounder last weekend on his favorite purple rig he always brings when he fishes with Capt. Charlie on the Island Queen. A slow bite due to the E/NE winds and the bottom loaded with grass was the story of the whole week fishing with Capt. Charlie on the Island Queen.
Doug & Josh from Northumberland, PA fished on the Island Queen w/Capt. Charlie and landed this 19.75" Flounder near the end of the trip. We had to pull our lines every five minutes to clean the grass off the hooks and fought the wind against tide all morning. We had five throwbacks also fishing with Capt Chalie on the Island Queen
Its been raining on and off here the past few days. We are seeing more families arrive as most schools have now let out. Offshore fishing Drew Cooper had a around a 8 foor hammerhead shark. There are still tuna and a few dolphin being caught offshore. Some nice seabass have also been pulled out the Lumpy. Kenny from All Jacked Up had three hook ups on bluefin landed 2 in the 50lb range and i lost a real big tuna he snapped the leader, his 6yr old daughter out there for the first time and she is hooked she loved it there was tuna boiling all around the boat all morning around Lumpy. Inshore more flounder are being picked up in the Chincoteague Channel. The East Coast flounder rig has been really producing here lately. Paired up with the no snag sinker. You need to swing by and try these new no-snag sinkers they actually sway in the water and pick up less grass and less snag than other sinkers. We have fresh bunker we got in this evening and some live peelers. We also have some big minnows in right now swing on in for all your fishing need. We stock the largest selection of Gulp and Fishbites around with the best prices. Thats going to do it for now. Tight Lines...
