Chet Mitchell with a nice drum we caught a little north of the smith island targets on the bayside.
Fishing around the island continues to be good for flounder as there are plenty of baitfish around. We have actually seen flounder jumping out of the water feeding. We have had flounder caught off of docks using spoons. Sounds crazy but once they are in a frenzy everything is possible. Off the wrecks we had one flounder at 30'' 10.5 pounds. Croaker fishing has been doing best off of Memorial Park, the croaker bite has fallen off significantly. Off the surf we continue to catch spot, kingfish, snapper blues have moved in numbers (take cut bait for them) and some flounder too. Be careful with the ripcurrents which are occuring due to the offshore storms. Crabbing is still going good too. The island is slowing down a lot it's a good time of year as we do not have a lot of crowds. Thats the report for now...
