Another good Summer day as the croaker have arrived. We have weighed in our biggest bluefin so far 135 pound bluefin from a charter with Tools of the Trade. In the surf the spots and kingfish were around. Small hooks OC surfballs fishbites squid and shrimp did the trick. At Memorial Park the croaker have shown up in numbers. Flounder fishing is still going well although the keeping ratio is about 1-10 right now. We are having a great catching season. The wrecks are still productive. Stop on in for all your fishing needs. We also have plenty of FIREWORKS as the Fourth of July is coming upon us. Thats the report for tonight. Tight Lines!
Cooper and Riley the only 2 people who caught fish showed their dads how to fish today. They reeled in a 135 pound bluefin citation tuna and a 21 pound yellowfin and released a skipjack too. They also had a BIG mako following with a 14 inch bitemark which freyed the leader. It was their first trip of many going offshore. Cooper recomends taking a charter with Capt. Kevin Merritt aboard "Tools of the Trade"
Barbara Cytrynowics from Florida caught this triggerfish fishing off a dock on South Main Street. We have seen more triggers caught this year than in the past.
