Today was the first fishing trip this year for Capt. Mike with the "Chincoteague View" and the pictures are of the 1st fish that came over the rail, a 22" brute that Glen from Long Island caught. They also had a few others that were 14-15" and lost some baits to fish that were playing with their food. A good start for 2010. Be patient with these fish, the water was in the mid to upper 50's and they were just hanging on to the bait and never had the hook. Thanks for the report Capt. Mike. We also got in somke fresh bunker and are stocked with live minnows too. Our selection of gulp is the largest around too. I hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend, be careful traveling. We will be open everyday from now on out. Tight lines and happy fishing this season!
On a side note the new Chincoteague Bridge opened last night. At the Chincoteague Natl. Wildlife Refuge parking lot 1 should be open today to about 150 parking spaces. The island is gearing up for another season.
