fishing reports
The sun is back out and the weather is beautiful, so Come on down and catch a huge RED DRUM off the surf. They are a slot fish, so you can only keep these fish if they are between 18-26 inches. Gene Brite has continued his streak catching a Big Red Drum on Sunday. Picture will be posted shortly. In the bay there continue to be big croaker. There has also been a pretty good Speckled Trout bite in the bay. I hear most of them are coming from the Queensound Bridge, but I'm sure if they are in there they are also on the back side of the Assateague Channels as well. Its been rough the last couple days off shore but, the fishing has been excellent out there as well, with the Wrecks keeping fishmen busy and and Red Hot White Marlin Bite.
We ask you to continue to Write in to your congressmen and senators to voice your opinion if you oppose(which everyone should) the comprehensive plans that have been put together by the Park Service and Fish and Wildlife. It will take a group effort to effectively save our beach and the future of Chincoteague and other coastal towns alike. Thanks so much for the support.

Capt. Steve's invasion of Disney I used to work there 10 years ago on the WDW college program it was good to get back and hang out with some old friends. I actually went on Sept. 11 2011 a tragic event that will forever be etched in history, on this day we remember all those who lost their lives for our country and those who serve and have served our country. God Bless the USA and be thankful we live in the best country in the world. We have been busy ordering more things for the shop and have a revamp coming to the website in 2 weeks. The fishing was picked up here in the past few days with the croakers making a comeback in the back bay. The water has started clearing up after all the weather that we have been having. There are some kingfish and a few spot in the surf with some occasional blues hitting in spurtz. We have had some red drum caught too which is great. As the month continues the drum fishing will be getting better too. We have had a steady supply of fresh bait coming in; both spot and mullet almost every day. We always have in live minnows and also stock live bloodworms you have to have the best bait with a well stocked shop.
The time has come to round up all the troops and make a difference. Please contact your Senators, Congressmen, Governors, etc and be HEARD. The more voices we have spreading the same message the better off Chincoteague Island and the rest of the federal run beaches will be. The fishing continues to pick up as the water clears up more and more everyday since Irene stopped by. There are BIG croaker in the bay, and lots of action out at the wrecks.
BELOW IS A LINK FROM CHINCOTEAGUE.COM THAT WILL GIVE YOU ALL THE DETAILS THAT THE REFUGE IS TRYING TO KEEP HIDDEN IN THE SMALL PRING. PLEASE GET INVOLVED.
