Chincoteague has been getting pounded by the storm. On the North side of the island boats were floating away as well as some duck blinds and many people lost anything that was in their yard which were not stationary. This has been the worst weather we have seen in a while. It is looking to get worse tonight. We are praying for a good outcome. Tomorrow afternoon we should see everything getting back to normal. We had one of out signs on top of our shop also blow over 4 by 8 foot sign get ripped off by the winds. Stay safe!

Ryan schilling from new jersey caught a 41 inch 30lb striper on november 5th on the bayside trolling with his dad.
Fishing in Chincoteague has been pretty good in the Chincoteague Bay. Most of the fish are being caught around structure and dark seems to help out the bite. Swimbaits are the bait of choice and the lighter colors are working better at this time. We still have our November buy 4 packs get 1 free special going on. We got in more eels today great for drifting for the rockfish aka(striped bass). The beach has been a little slow here as of late with only a few rock and some dogfish being caught. There was a 40 inch rock brought in off the beach on Tues. Today Rob D. caught and released another 25 inch rock today. The inshore wrecks are still producing some nice tautog. Today Jordan West limited out on the inshore wrecks with tog his biggest weighing in at 6.10 pounds. We are open at 7am thats the report for now. Tight Lines...
Leon Rose with a nice rock from his secret spot.
We are still awaiting the big schools of the migrating rockfish to show up in more numbers. There have been a few rockfish showing up with sealice which are ocean run fish. The bridges have been productive with chartruce colors working best at this time. There are not to many people fishing the surf right now. Pat M. from NY said be careful on the ORV zone as some of the sand has been soft. We have been experiencing a lot of wind here lately, make sure to have some heavier weights and sputniks for the Fall fishing. Another tip is to throw directly into the wind as this allows your weight to sink into the sand giving you better holding. The time of year is also known for hunting, there is sika deer hunting at the Chincoteague Natl. Wildlife Refuge. If you want to go for waterfowl hunting there are a few local captains that we recommend. There have been a few flounder and kingfish being caught at the surf here lately. Thats the report for now.
