Fishing continues to be productive with lots of action here around Chincoteague. The charters have been doing well putting anglers on the fish with alot of croaker catches a few bigger ones are moving in too. Flounder action has been really good especially for the time of year we are in. PA Gary who usually can be found putting a dent in the striper and drum population caught 3 flounder fishing from land today. Sharks are also in the backbay, as for Sharks it is sharkweek on the Discovery Channel. It has been some great programming so check it out if you get time.

Its been a busy week around here with the Pony Swim and Auction that has just taken place with the highest auctioned was the Charity Buy back pony was auctioned this morning by the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Co. it sold for $5,800 going to Hospice and Pallative Care of the Eastern Shore a great organization. Here on the island people are here for each other. Please go to the carnival and support the Fire Company. Tomorrow morning is the swimback which the Ponies go the opposite direction back to Assateague. Everyone seems to be having a great time. It has beena bit windy here lately so I do not have much of an offshore report. There ahve been some cobia sighting around wrecks and bouyes. Smaller croaker are still dominating the inside action. Spot, kingfish, sharks, skates, and rays off the surf. Still the most popular rigs are the EC surfballs simple easy and effective. Thats the report for now Tight Lines!
Bruce Weavers also had this ray with a bunch of spot and kings caught off hte beach.
