The past couple of days the croakering has slowed down the last few days.  There have been a few nicer ones caught around bouys 10 and 11 near the inlet.  Crabbing is still going strong around the island.  We have some new improved collapsible caoted crab traps made in the USA.  These traps have been a big hit will surely outlast the imported ones.  We have also had a good spot bite on the surf, bloodworms and surfballs have been doing good.  I gotta get back to the shop tight lines!

This was 9 year old Kolin's 1st time fishing here and he caught lots of croaker up to 15" and a few flounder, too. The croaker are just about everywhere and some bigger ones are starting to show up, too. There are still some flounder being caught even while we're croaker fishing so they're still around.

With the high seas we have been having not to much offshore fishing has been going on here lately.  In the surf anglers have had to go to heavier weights do to the undertow and waves.  We have sputnik sinker which have spikes that give you extra holding power.  We also carry the largest selection of sinkers.  Gene brite had a great Saturday night catching some bigger spot, a bluefish and sharks too.   In the surf there have been plenty of spot around using surfballs tipped with bloodworms and fishbites bw have been working good a few bluefish have moved in too.  Still croaker and flounder in the bay.  Thats the report for now.  Tight Lines!

Its been a good few days around here and we even had some rain.  A lot of rain on Thursday for a few hours but fishing was still good before and after the showers.  There are still plenty of croaker in the bay which has been great for all who like the steady action.  Off of TOm's Cove Pier there was a 22 inch flounder taken on 6 pound test, the same group also pulled in some croakers, kingfish, searobins, and skates.  In the surf there has been a mix of panfish spot and kings mostly with some bluefish in the mix too.  The bigger pullers this time of year are the rays and sharks.  Make sure to have some wire leader for the sharks and blues if you get bit off using mono rigs.  Bloodworms have been the bait of choice on surfball rigs followed by fishbites bw and shrimp.  Still cut bait is best if you are looking for sharks, rays, and skates.  We are well stocked with all you fishing need.  LIVE MINNOWS, BLOODWORMS, and the largest selection of frozen and artificial bait too.  Get out and Go Fish.  School is about to start up so enjoy Summer.  Tight Lines!

Fishing continures to be good in the bay with the craokers still leading the charge.  Off the surf this monring Dean C. caught 10 kingfish 5 spot and some bluefish too the biggest one at 17' using bloodworms on surfball rigs'.  This is a good sign as we haven't seen a lot of bluefish this summer season.   The heat wave is still upon us make sure to take plenty of water with you.  Also sunscreen is a must do not stop there take ut polarized glasses to be protected from the sun.  It has been a good week here at the shop as anglers are staying busy with their crocker catches.  Remember only take only what you use or are going to eat.   Good Luck fishing!

We have been staying busy with alot of people coming in catching fish.  The croakers have been hitting well and have been spread throughout the Chincoteague and Assateague Channel.  There have also been more searobins around than in past years.  Off the surf both spot and kingfish are still doing well early mornings and late afternoon still providing most action with bloodworms being top bait then fishbites bloodworms, shrimp, and squid being next favorite baits.  Sharks have still been showing up in the bay with regularity.  On the wrcks trigger fishing has been pretty good and also FLounders too.  Big flounder as you can see from above have been coming in too.  We have in live minnows, and the largest selection of artificial baits and frozen baits on the island.  Good Luck Fishing!
