fishing reports

It was really windy on the surf as the few anglers who fished today were using sputniks to hold. A couple kingfish were brought in accompanied by skate and shark. Crabbing is pretty good as Brad S. from Baltimore caught a couple dozen using handlines in the Refuge. I dont have an inshore report as the blow kept people off the water.
We have in some fresh sea clams great for drum%21

Todays action was pretty slow in the bay due to the muddy water. The surf did not produce much either. I guess thats why we call it fishing. As for out tournament you can register at Capt. Steves any time before you fish on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. We welcome back Peter to the shop he graduated from Lynchburg College this past Saturday.

Pictured above is Dean and Sharon E. of Chincoteague 24 inch 5.10 lb. flounder and 17 inch bluefish.
On the surf there were some more drum caught one keeper rockfish and a released red drum. The action was scattered out there according to anglers. Hopefully tomorrow we will have some more pictures to put up. Tonight I went to the town meeting out on by the National Park Service and Fish and Wildlife about the National Wildlife Refuge. They talked about a lot of topics including fixing bike trails, raising entrance fees, and getting rid of the idea of paying for parking. This weekend is our upcoming flounder tournament...just a reminder.

Spider and Gery hold up a 9.5 pound citation tog on another successful wreck trip catching tog aboard %5Burl%3Dhttp://www.hooksandfeathers.com/%5DTools of the Trade%5B/url%5D with Capt. Kevin Merritt

Fishing today was slow according to JT Bolding, he said the falling barometric pressure had something to do with it. The wind picked up in the afternoon and made the flounder fishing a lot more difficult. It's getting late see you at the shop. Better Luck tomorrow Jimmy
